Scottsdale, AZ Dental Implants Transform Smiles
Research indicates that 50 million Americans have lost all of their teeth, and 69% of adults have lost at least one tooth. Missing teeth can compromise your oral health and diminish your self-esteem. If you have lost one or more of your natural teeth, Dr. Alex Martin can provide implant restorations that look and feel just like the real thing at our Scottsdale dental office. Patients from Paradise Valley, AZ and surrounding areas are always welcome – contact us today to schedule an appointment!
Dental implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth. Unlike removable partials and dentures, dental implants won't slip when you talk or chew, so patients can speak confidently and eat whatever they choose. As the closest prosthetic to nature, implants create an artificial root and crown, mimicking your original tooth structure.
Before recommending dental implants, Dr. Martin will perform a thorough assessment of your mouth to make sure you have enough bone to support the implants. Then, a trained specialist will surgically place the implants into your jawbone. To ensure the success of your implants, your mouth will need time to heal, giving the bone a chance to fuse with the implant posts. Dr. Martin will then permanently attach your prosthetic tooth or teeth on top of the dental implant post(s).
There are several options for restoring your dental implants solidly and attractively, and Dr. Martin will help you determine which one works best for your oral health, your personal preferences, and your budget. They include:
- Metal-free dental crowns – Our custom dental crowns are the ideal option when a single implant (tooth) is in need of restoration. Dr. Martin will ensure an aesthetically pleasing match with nearby teeth, and the gap in your smile can be filled without requiring significant alteration of the healthy dental structure around it.
- Implant-retained prosthetics – An implant-retained denture or bridge is an effective, relatively affordable option for patients who have several teeth that need restoration. These prosthetics closely resemble the traditional versions, but they’re designed to attach to a number of placed implants within the jawbone for a strong and lifelike fit that feels comfortably sturdy in the mouth. Depending on the patient’s needs, Dr. Martin may recommend a fixed option or a removable option.
- All-on-4/Teeth-in-a-Day – For those suffering from extreme tooth loss, the large number of traditional implants needed to cover the area may not be compatible with the patient’s budget and/or jawbone health. Thankfully, All-on-4 can provide the structure and support patients need to enjoy a confident smile again. Like the name suggests, as few as four implants can be strategically placed over the length of a full arch, allowing Dr. Martin to attach a fixed prosthetic that looks lifelike and functions properly right away.
